Abel Martinez-Duarte, 70, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2020 at his home in Houston, Texas.  He was born on November 2, 1950, in Vallehermoso, Tamaulipas, Mexico to Socorro Martinez and Maria Duarte.  Abel is preceded in death by both parents, his 2 brothers Aaron and Noe Martinez and his sister Rebeca Martinez Duarte.  He leaves behind his two daughters; Anilu Martinez Hawkins, husband Russ Hawkins and Arely Adriana Martinez, husband Larry Martinez;  Two sons,  Edwin Abel Martinez and Abdiel Isai Martinez;  Four grandchildren,  Mya Genesis Martinez, Breanna Loren Martinez, Ethan Martinez and Adalyn Alexa Martinez; Two brothers, Adan Martinez and Daniel Martinez; One sister, Elizabeth Martinez Duarte.

Abel spent his time enjoying time with family, painting, watching movies and enjoying good food.  He was always willing to give anyone a helping hand.  The most important for Abel was family. Abel worked hard and was a true warrior.  Abel fought hard the last couple of years battling cancer with courage and hope.  To some he may have lost the battle but in reality he won the war because he is rejoicing with the Almighty God today. Abel will be greatly missed.  Until they meet again- from his Molosios  - "Love you Daddy-o".
