IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Annabelle
Henderson
November 14, 1920 – July 8, 2021
On July 8, 2021 Annabelle Lillian Henderson, passed away peacefully in her home in the Woodlands. Her long, well lived life; marked by her centennial last year, was punctuated by a penchant for dogs and bridge.
She was born in Sacramento, California to Eugene and Lillian McCaffery on the 14 of November 1920, the youngest of seven siblings. Her life was changed one day by her decision to attend a USO dance where she met her life partner; enlisted serviceman R.B. Henderson. A whirlwind romance led to a Christmas Day wedding in 1941, just after the US entered WWII. Settling in Texas she raised three boys and took pride in being a housewife and mother. She dabbled in politics working as a longtime volunteer with the League of Women Voters. A highlight of her volunteer work was a meeting with Senator Kay Bailey Hutchinson. Professionally, she worked for a number of years as a manufacturers representative at the Dallas World Trade Center. In her golden years in the Woodlands, she was a regular at a weekly bridge group and was never without the companionship of a beloved dog.
She is preceded in death by her cherished husband, R.B. Henderson and her oldest sons Steve and Mark Henderson. She is survived by her son Todd Henderson of the Woodlands, grandchildren Scott Henderson of Dallas, Conn Henderson of Lafayette, Colorado, Marc Henderson of Las Vegas, Zach Henderson of San Antonio and great granddaughter Azalea. She also is blessed with two daughters in law; Karen and Patty Henderson.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to the SPCA or a favorite charity of your choice. She will be laid to rest in a private service at Veterans Memorial Cemetery Houston.
