Obituary

Arthur De Leon of Pearland, Texas passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at the age of 58.  He was born in Ganado, Texas on April 1, 1962 to the late Joe De Leon and Anita Palacios De Leon.

Art was a resident of Pearland for 11 years, but grew up in El Campo, Texas.  He spent the majority of his career in the oil and gas industry where he formed numerous relationships that forever impacted his life.  He worked primarily in purchasing/logistics roles and spent the last 5 years in business development for Advanced Piping Solutions.  In addition, Art had a passion for helping others and making a difference.  He served on countless committees and foundations including Davis Days Foundation, The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, as well as Los Amigos and others.  He was known as a mover and shaker and anyone could count on him to make things happen if it meant helping to change someone's life for the best.  His legacy of serving others, mentorship and giving back will live on forever.

Art will be remembered as a family man.  As most know, he became a father later in life, but took on the role with great pride.  He loved being a dad to his beautiful son and daughter, who, incidentally both look like him.  He found lasting happiness being a husband, father, brother, friend, cousin, volunteer, sports fanatic, master griller, movie enthusiast with his son, mentor, and incredible human being.

Art is survived by his wife, Alicia De Leon, son Alejandro De Leon and daughter, Ava De Leon.   He is also survived by his sister Sylvia Macias and her husband Rudy; nieces Staci and Candice Gonzalez; brother Marty De Leon and his wife Elizabeth, and nephew Derek De Leon, niece Alyssa De Leon; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jose Luis and Maria Ercilia Hernandez; sisters-in-law Suzanne Suarez, her husband Jafet and their children Javan and Madai Suarez; Veronica Indupalli, her husband Bobby and their daughter, Leena.  Art also leaves numerous extended family members and many incredible friends that have been brothers and sisters to him.

Art De Leon will be greatly missed and will forever have a special place in the hearts of many.  A celebration of life is being planned for Saturday, August 29 th ; additional details will follow.

Psalm 23:1-3 "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for His name's sake."
