IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Arthur Lee
May
December 12, 1954 – July 28, 2025
Arthur Lee May, 70, of The Woodlands, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2025, after a courageous battle with liver cancer. Born on December 12, 1954, in Houston, Texas, Arthur's adventurous spirit and genuine kindness shaped a remarkable life that touched all who knew him.
His parents; Arthur Vaughn May and Anna Loyette May, nurtured Arthur to become the man he is recognized as today by his friends and family. Teaching him how to navigate through hardships and supporting him throughout their lives.
After graduating high school, Arthur nearly followed in his parents' footsteps into real estate and insurance. Instead, fueled by a bold entrepreneurial drive, Arthur founded a C.B. radio business in the mid-1970s, which grew and evolved into a distinguished career in the firearms industry. Over the decades, Arthur wore many hats: a trusted supplier to law enforcement, a respected consultant for rare and collectible arms, a specialist in SWAT team upgrades—even contributing to the cinematic world with his expertise in props and weaponry. Notably, he was involved in equipping the L.A.P.D. SWAT team ahead of the 1984 Olympics, further cementing his legacy in his field.
Arthur was generous to a fault, with a quick wit and an infectious sense of humor. Friends and colleagues recall his compassion and ease in making connections. His wife, Lori Lynn Taylor May, being one of the most special connections in his life that he cherished. As well as his cousins, John Arthur May and Marilyn May Russell, who watched Arthur grow up along side them.
Animals held a special place in his heart; as a young man, Arthur raised horses and later became well-known for his prize-winning show dogs. His love for adventure took him across the globe—he was passionate about traveling, especially throughout the South Pacific, and was happiest near water, whether boating, jet skiing, or casting a line as an avid fisherman.
Arthur's life was guided by love—above all, for his wife and family, who were the true center of his world. He will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
In honoring Arthur's memory, let us remember his warmth, humor, and generous spirit.
In lieu of flowers, you can make a donation to the Montgomery Animal Shelter in Conroe Texas. Arthur was a big animal lover and he would love that.
