Barbara Blanca Acker-Varela, 63, passed away January 3, 2021. She was born September 9, 1957 in San Antonio, Texas to Ben and Blanca Varela.

Barbara leaves behind her two sons, Ben, wife Christina; and Shaun Acker. Parents Ben and Blanca Varela; sisters, Janet Varela Colletto, husband Anthony; and Sharon Griggs and husband Stephen. Nephews, Matthew and wife Emily Griggs; Michael Griggs; Niece, Hope Griggs.

Barbara, a proud breast cancer survivor, loved her family, her friends and her church, the Vineyard of Conroe. She loved visiting with family. Barbara served at her church's food bank. She loved helping anyone in need. She would've given you the shirt off her back if she thought you needed it. Her heart was larger than her ability to help. She enjoyed reading her bible and making her notes every morning while sipping her hot green tea. She leaves behind loving family and friends. She never met a stranger that didn't become a friend.

Barbara will be missed by many and loved always.

Barbara kept life simple, in lieu of flowers make donations to St. Jude children's research hospital.
