Barbara "Ellen" Goins passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 29, 2021. She was born in Baltimore, Maryland on November 23, 1937, to Edwin and Sarah Jane Ahearn Hughes. She had two sisters, Betty and Nancy, who both proceeded her in eternal rest. Ellen leaves behind her loving husband of 65 years, Buzz Goins as well as, children Debby Young, Barbara Swenson, Mike Goins and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Ellen financially supported many charities and volunteered at her church, Christ the King Episcopal Church, as well as The League of Women Voters. She was a rare person who did not have enemies, only friends. She dedicated her life to raising her children and babysitting grandchildren. A special place in her heart went to the numerous dogs and cats she had during her life.

The family would like to thank Yesenia and the rest of the staff of Atria Westchase, for their dedicated care and compassion over the last two years.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 13, 2021, at 2pm at Christ the King Episcopal Church, located at 15325 Bellaire Boulevard, Houston, Texas 77083. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Citizens for Animal Protection, 17555 Katy Freeway or the Alzheimer's Association.
