Obituary

Bettie Jean Jones, 75, of Jasper, Tx, passed away April 21, 2021 in The Woodlands, Tx.  She was born on February 19, 1946 in Angelina County to Willie and Margaret Jones.  She is proceeded in death by both parents and by brothers James Jones and Bobby Jones.  She leaves behind son; Christofer Nolen and daughter-in-law  Shaddo Nolen;  four grandchildren, Zachary Nolen, Michael Nolen, Kylie Simpson, and Matthew Nolen; and countless family members and friends.

Grammy, as she was known, enjoyed traveling, camping, reading, and loved serving at church whether it was: playing the piano, teaching Sunday School,  working with the youth, or singing in the choir.  She loved spending time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren.  To Bettie, the saying that you can't choose your family only your friends was all wrong.  She was also known to "adopt" people into the family as evidenced by the many extra sons, daughters, brothers, and sisters she gained over the years.  They may not have been blood relations, but were family in her heart.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 30,2021 at 10:00am at Graceful Memorial Chapel located at 3160 Brownie Campbell Rd, Houston, Tx 77038.  Graveside to follow near Zavala, Tx at the family cemetery at Concord Missionary Baptist Church.  In lieu of traditional flower arrangement please send live potted plants.  Bettie loved to spend time tending to her plants. In remembrance of her the family will love them and tend to them and remember their Grammy.
