Brian Henry Edward Nutley

September 21, 1936 – January 13, 2023

In the loving memory of our dad. Brian Henry Edward Nutley passed away on January 13, 2023.
Born in Surrey, North-Eastern England on September 21, 1936, he moved to the United States
in 1963 where he made his career as an Engineer and raised his family. He is preceded in death
by his mother, Rose Devon, father, George Henry Nutley, and brother Leo Nutley. He is
survived by his wife, Hazel Nutley and their children, Peter Nutley, Paul Nutley and Penny
Stephens, daughter in law, Tammie Nutley, son in law, Gerald Stephens, grandchildren, Brittany
Greiner, April Stephens and Dustin Stephens. A Celebration of Life will be forthcoming.
Dad was a devoted husband to our mom, Hazel Nutley, for 64 years. He married the love of his
life on May 31, 1958 and it was a true fairy tale marriage. He commonly referred to her as "My
Love" and spent every day of their life together showing her how much he adored her, day
after day, year after year, decade after decade. He made a promise when they married that he
would always take care of her and he never broke that promise, and we won't either. We will
always honor him by taking care of mom with as much love and devotion as he did.
Our dad was one of the kindest souls on this planet, he was a gentle, giving, loving husband and
father who worked tirelessly to ensure his family had everything they needed and the best life
possible. He faced every challenge in life with admirable strength and courage. Early in life, he
learned the importance of hard work and he instilled that same work ethic into all of us. He
always was there for his family.
Dad worked his whole career as a successful Engineer and after he retired, he enjoyed traveling
with mom. They especially loved to take cruises. Every year, they would take long "holidays"
together, traveling to England, Australia and New Zealand to name a few. His favorite trip was
to New Zealand, and he spoke about that trip often. He loved sports cars and enjoyed golf,
playing poker and fishing with the family. Often betting on who would catch the largest fish
each trip. For the record he cheated. Knocking other people's fish off the hook with the net so
he would win. But that's ok dad. We all had a great time together.
Dad – you will be missed by all of us, and we know that you have already found that perfect
pub in heaven. Enjoying the best pint of ale and your perfect English fish n chips that you so
often talked about. We love you so much and you will live on forever in our hearts until we see
you again. We will always cherish and respect you more than you could ever know. Cheers to
you, Dad.
