IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Britney Rose
Karlin
July 15, 1991 – December 22, 2020
On December 22nd, our Britney Rose drifted into a peaceful slumber, surrounded by family as she watched the snow fall outside her window.
When Britney was diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Melanoma just a few months ago, she moved from Denver to Houston so that she could get the best care at MD Anderson Cancer Center. Everyone who knew Britney, knew that what she wanted more than anything was to make it back to Denver - to enjoy the snowfall.
Britney was a wonderfully sweet young lady who always put others before herself. She went through life with a bright, beautiful smile, a song in her heart, and always ready to share both. Britney's innate strength and determination was evident throughout her life and did not weaken as she battled cancer.
We are grateful for every day we had with Britney. We are grateful for the friends who reached out to encourage and support her through her last months. We are grateful for the friends and family who were able to visit, call, or send messages for Britney in her final days. Britney heard your words and love; we know how much that meant to her.
The common thread in every message was what a true friend Britney was to everyone who knew her. Her kindness, openness, encouragement, and unconditional support were constant themes as friends and family said farewell. Britney was a wonderful sister and daughter - and an amazing friend to all who knew her. While Britney's rapid decline did not allow us much time to say goodbye, we take comfort in knowing that her pain was not drawn out. We also take comfort in knowing we will see her again, the beautiful smile, sparkle in her eyes, and song in her heart.
Britney is survived by her loving parents, Larry & Wendy Karlin and siblings: brother, Rob and wife April; sister, Jeanea; sister, Stefany and husband Josh Fattor; brother, James; sister, Crystal; brother, Tim; and sister, Caran and husband Jesus Rodriguez. She is also survived by three nephews and three nieces: Austin and Ashley Karlin; Dusten and Tori Hurt-Klein; and Lachlan and Weatherly Fattor.
Britney was preceded in death by an infant sister, Michelle and an infant nephew, Buddy.
