Carole Joan White passed from this life on May 11, 2023 at the age of 81. Joan was born in Bay City, Texas on September 16, 1941 to Jewel Lee and I.E. White. She is preceded in death by her son, Brian Keith Isbell and her parents, Issac Estell and Jewel Lee (Keith) White. She is survived by her sister, Micki White; brother, Charles White; daughters, Julie (Rod) Klassen and Karin (Edmond) Stuven-O'Donnell; her sons, Jeff Isbell, and Bobby and Scottie Taboada; grandson, Aaron (Georgianna) Klassen; granddaughter, Sarah Caulfield; great-grandchildren, Ashlyn Rose and Isabella Michelle Klassen and Logan Elijah and Allyson Jewel Caulfield; nieces, Melia Summa and Anh White and nephew, Adam Kai White and numerous cousins and friends.
Joanie, as she was called by those closest to her, was a feisty soul. Though small in stature she was a force to be reckoned with, but loved with the same intensity. Her door was always open with a shoulder to cry on. She spent a few years in Hawaii as a child while her father was stationed at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu. While there, she learned and participated in the rich traditions of the islands and always cherished those memories. Following the family's return to El Paso, Joanie graduated from Austin High School. She placed second in Miss El Paso beauty pageant after graduation and was employed at State National Bank in El Paso Texas, eventually rising to vice president at what ended up as Wells Fargo Bank. She retired from Wells Fargo Bank after many years of service. She raised her family in El Paso, Texas, where she lived until moving to Van Vleck, and then Houston to be near family. Her family recalls her both helping her children and grandchildren get into trouble and get out of trouble. Joan found her own trouble occasionally. She once went car shopping with Sarah and came home with an IROC Z-28 Camaro convertible, much to Julie and Rods dismay, but to her grandkids, she was the coolest grandma on the planet! Her last years were spent well at The Heights of North Houston where she had many friends among the residents and staff. She could frequently be found roaming the halls, dancing (and teaching others to dance) and playing Bingo; always ready to receive a visit or spend a weekend or holiday with the family.
She will be greatly missed and remembered for her sweet smile and love!
"He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.""
