Charles A. Fairfax was born on Saturday, May 30, 1936 in St. Louis Missouri.
His loving and devoted mother, Mary Elizabeth Walker, received her wings on Thursday, February 8, 1996.
Charles received the Lord into his life as a child and was baptized and raised in Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church, in Wellston, Missouri.
Upon his graduation from the St. Louis Public School System, Charles enlisted in The United States Air Force and was honorably discharged on Saturday, September 29, 1962.
A true renaissance man and restless jack of all trades, "Fairfax" held various career positions across his lifetime. He was an aircraft mechanic with McDonnell Douglas Aircraft Company. He was at one time, a licensed auto mechanic as well as a corrections officer with the St. Louis City Municipal Jail. He was also a construction contractor with Pioneer Housing Incorporated.
In the late 70's, Charles became an avid CB radio enthusiast.
Charles departed this life on Thursday, May 21, 2020 at 3:00 a.m. at Laurel Court Nursing Facility in Houston Texas.
He is survived by his children, Amanda Sandefur (son, Floyd E. Sandefur, preceded him in death), Charles E. Spearman, and Charlie Fairfax. He is also survived by two adult grand children, Maya Shardai Lee and Jerrell Lee.
He is also survived by his Aunt Muriel Miller, Aunt Louise Fairfax, friends Beverly Gales & Eugene Fleming and an additional host of extended family members and friends.
His wife, and also native St. Louisan, Veronica Paul Fairfaix, preceded him in death, Thursday, June 20, 2019.
Charles A. Fairfax may have taken his last breath in Texas, but he was a true Kinlochian (Kinloch, Missouri) at heart!!
