Charnelsa "Joyce"

Evans, passed away Friday, November 12, 2021 at her home in The Woodlands, Texas.

Born Charnelsa Joyce Forest on March 9, 1940 in Matthews, Missouri, she was the daughter of Lillian Jane Forest.  At age one, her step-father embraced her as his own and she became known as Charnelsa Joyce Flanigan.

She lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma most of her life and recently moved from Wagoner, Oklahoma to The Woodlands, Texas, to enjoy her last days with her daughter and grandchildren.  Joyce enjoyed many hobbies throughout her life, including camping, boating, fishing, and weekend lake gatherings.  She also enjoyed sewing, arts and crafts, and gardening.  Her most talked about enjoyment was travelling around the United States alongside her husband.

She married Kenneth Clifford Evans on July 6, 1957, and they have four children; Leland Dee, Steven Ray, Carl DeWayne, and Marlo Jodawn.  After 16 years of marriage, Kenneth passed away and Joyce went on to meet her lifelong love and partner Robert, with whom she enjoyed 48 years together.

Joyce is survived by her spouse, Robert Walter Harris, of The Woodlands, Texas; her daughter Marlo McManus and son-in-law David McManus, of The Woodlands, Texas; 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; a sister, Eula Hutchinson of Collinsville, Ok and Erma Mink of Oologah, Ok.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Clifford Evans, her sons:  Steven Ray Evans, Leland Dee Evans, and Carl DeWayne Evans; her sister Freda Davis and her brother Everett Flanigan;
