Chavous Hatchell Jr. (83) passed away in Houston, Tx on Sunday, June 26 ^th , 2022. He was born in Norfolk, Va on April 22 ^nd , 1939, to Lucy Winn and Chavous Hatchell Sr. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sons Carlton and Alan Christopher, his sister, Elizabeth, and his brother Silas. He resided in Los Angeles, CA most of his adult life until he retired from Dunn Edwards Paint Company in 1999. After relocating his family to Houston, Tx in 2000, Chavous became an active member of The Church Without Walls - Brook Hollow, joining several ministries and becoming a Bible Study Group Leader.

Chavous is survived by his wife of 24 years, Mae Hatchell; twin sister, Mary Taylor; children, Chavous Hatchell III (wife Lucinda Hatchell), Regina Hatchell, Chris Hatchell (wife Vernell Hatchell), Carla Lewis-Hatchell (husband Alton Lewis), Dontae Hatchell (wife Necole Hatchell), Lavar Hatchell, Deidra Hightower (husband Terrance Hightower), Britany Hatchell, Devonte Hatchell, and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
