Obituary

Clifford "Aaron" Whitman of Magnolia, Texas at age 46, died peacefully on April 10th surrounded by family.  Aaron was a regular guy who was diagnosed with terminal cancer. In order to fight the disease, he underwent an experimental treatment that imbues him with his superhuman healing ability, but it doesn't necessarily cure the disease. Instead, it makes it so his cells are unable to die — including his cancer cells.  Civilians will recognize him best as Deadpool, and thank him for his many years of service trying to hunt down Ajax. Oh wait, that is Deadpool's story… but so closely aligned with Aaron's.

His family and friends knew him as a kind and mild-mannered computer genius, Star Wars fanatic, karaoke singer, lover of comic books & marvel super heroes, but most of all his love for the "Merc with a Mouth", Deadpool. Aaron was known for his kind heart and caring nature towards people and animals above anything else.  He was able to do what he loved daily; computer/IT and helping others who have no idea what the magic of a restart can do.

Aaron is preceded in death by his Father Clifford Lewis Whitman, and his Grandparents Noel and Norma Whitman, and Gene Rueger.  He is survived by his Mother Janet (Mike) Cook, Grandmother Marge Rueger,  Sisters Shawna (Tom) Eadie & Lindsey (Ricky) Quinones, Brother Bradley (Joy) Whitman, Daughter Courtney Christine Hughes, Grandchildren Kevin Wayne Mitcham, Emma LeAnn Mitcham, and Elijah Jaxson Gorman, Nieces and Nephews Tyler Eadie, Brooke Eadie, Braylie Quinones, Bailor Whitman, Liam Escobar, Alex Quinones, and Remington Whitman, and many wonderful Aunts and Cousins that loved him dearly.  And we cannot leave out his steadfast companion, Atreyu who stayed by his side for many years.

There is a joke among comic book fans that "nobody stays dead except Bucky" (a reference to Captain America's sidekick who remained dead for many years before eventually being resurrected, too).  We can only hope this is true for Aaron, but for now, we will continue to remember him and his legacy in a positive and celebratory way.   A celebration of life will be held at a future date and will be shared with all who would like to attend.
