Cynthia "Cindy" Anne Harris Head

Cynthia "Cindy" A. Harris Head, 72, passed away on March 24, 2023.

She was born August 30, 1950 to Huey P. and Beatrice A. Harris in Shreveport, LA.  Cindy graduated from Lafayette High school in 1968, and attended Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA and USL in Lafayette, LA.

She married Eddie G. Head of Lafayette, LA on May 20, 1972.  During their 50 years together, they enjoyed being outdoors, going fishing, and camping with family. They spent time residing in both Lafayette and Baton Rouge, LA.

Her passion was being a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother.  She was sentimental and a compassionate caregiver. She loved decorating for all holidays and made special occasions extra special.  She enjoyed playing the piano, reading, creating floral and wreath arrangements, tending to her flowerbeds, shopping, cooking, and spending afternoons sipping coffee with friends.  She was a lover of all animals, big and small, but especially enjoyed horseback riding and her pet dogs, Benji and Ozzy.

Cindy is survived by her husband, Eddie Gilbert Head from Louisiana, daughters Angela Head Risley (Jason N. Risley) of Fulshear, TX and Christi Head Zumo (Timothy J. Zumo) of Gonzales, LA; grandchildren Morgan E. Risley, Genevieve F. Zumo, Avery K. Risley, and Paxton K. Zumo, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Cindy is preceded in death by her parents, Huey P. and Beatrice A. Harris, her maternal grandparents, William F. and Eddie R. Anderson, and her paternal grandparents John and Maude Harris.

A memorial celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, April 22 ^nd at The Gatehouse located at 13469 S. Harrells Ferry Rd, Baton Rouge, LA 70816.  The family will receive guests at 1 o'clock with a service beginning at 1:30 pm.  A reception will immediately follow until 4 o'clock.
