IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Darlene Ann
Jurjevich
January 1, 1942 – May 17, 2022
Darlene Ann Jurjevich
Darlene celebrated 80 years of life this year. She was born in Bern, Kansas. She grew up on a dairy farm. After high school she moved to Topeka and worked for the State of Kansas. She met and married her first husband, Lonnie Gail Prewitt, and relocated to Illinois where she raised her three daughters. After retiring she and her husband, David Jurjevich, moved back to Corning, Kansas before relocating to Cypress, Texas.
Darlene was the shining light in every room with a twinkle in her bright blue eyes and always smiling. She had a great sense of humor, an infectious laugh and a quick wit. She loved talking with family and friends. Darlene saw the good and positive in everything. Always ready with a hug, smile and motherly words of wisdom and encouragement whenever needed. She was a strong and supportive wife. She was "Mom" to her daughters and the children of her precious friend, Barb. Darlene loved flowers, gardening, sewing, cooking and collected teddy bears. She spent countless hours in our kitchen doing needlework with her friend, Joanie. Many of those projects are hanging on the sewing room wall or used at the holidays. Mom loved to sit and watch the squirrels and birds in the back yard and was waiting for the arrival of the hummingbirds.
Darlene passed away peacefully on May 17, 2022 after battling ALS. She is predeceased by her grandparents; her parents Henry and Katherine Duryea; brother Robert (Bobby) Duryea; first husband Lonnie Gail Prewitt; and daughter Darla Gail Prewitt. She is survived by her husband David Jurjevich; brother Richard Duryea; daughters Linda Ramirez and husband Tomas, Joyce Prewitt and Brenda Prewitt and cousins, nieces and nephews.
