Darrell Jay Thompson, 66, of Wamego, KS, passed away on July 12, 2025, surrounded by loving family in their home in Magnolia, TX. Darrell was born in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Raymond & Olga Thompson.
Darrell graduated from Highland Park High School in 1977.
Darrell has one child, Kallista Rothlander.
Darrell worked as an auto mechanic until retirement at Evergy in Manhattan, KS. Darrell loved working on cars, fishing, holidays and traveling.
Remaining to cherish Darrell's memory are his daughter, Kallista (Brent) Rothlander, grandchildren Kaleb (Shelby) Parker, Trevor Parker & Sawyer Rothlander, siblings Jerry (Karin) Thompson, Joyce Grimmett, & Robert (Vera) Thompson, and many extended family members.
Preceding Darrell in death are parents Raymond & Olga Thompson, and sister Connie Seley.
In accordance with his wishes, there will be no public funeral or memorial service. A private family service will be held at a later date.
