IN LOVING MEMORY OF
David Edward
Carlson
October 31, 1941 – May 19, 2021
David Edward Carlson
October 31, 1941, to May 19, 2021
On May 19, 2021, David died in Houston, Texas. He is now with our Lord. Hallelujah!
David was born on October 31, 1941, to Frances and Edward Carlson in El Paso, Texas. He graduated from
Austin High School(El Paso) in1960 and Texas Western College(El Paso) in 1964. He soon entered the U.S. Army for a three-year stint. In 1971 David moved to Houston, Texas, and became an active member of Church of the Redeemer, Episcopal and has served in their choir for the past 50 years. David was a kind person who loved the Lord and prayed with and for many in need. Some who knew David called him a "gentle giant." We know David is joining us in prayer, the communion of saints, and singing with a host of angels.
David was predeceased by his parents and other relatives, including Aunt Grace Murray. He leaves behind his sister, Sylvia Evans; his niece Michelle Evans; his nephew Jon M Evans (Genna) and their three children: Will, Nickel, and Margot, and several cousins.
Also, surviving are his many faithful friends at Church of the Redeemer who kept his spirits high during recovery from his first stroke. His friend, John Crow, assisted by neighbor and friend, Chris Kleypus, took care of his beloved dogs, Knoxie, George, and Ruthie.
Crossing the Rainbow Bridge, David will joyfully reunite with all those loved dogs that have been waiting for him.
Services are scheduled for Saturday, June 5, 2021, at
