David 'Dave' Robert Ettman, 61, passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 26, 2021 in Shenandoah, Texas.  He was born in Nuremberg, Germany to William 'Bill' H. Ettman and Erika G. Ettman.  An army transfer moved the family to North Carolina where they settled in Charlotte.

While at West Charlotte High School, Dave realized his mechanical aptitude in JROTC, setting a record for disassembly and reassembly of a rifle.  He went on to work in the industrial coatings field, applying his knowledge of finishing processes to projects at Motorola, Apple and Hewlett-Packard, moving his family to various locations around the country.  Later in life he became a tanker driver for Groendyke Transport.

Among Dave's many interests and passions were football, playing for semi-pro teams and as an avid Miami Dolphins fan; scouting, as aquatics director and scoutmaster; photography, video games and classic cars.  He was always willing to help a neighbor with anything from taking down trees to helping find keys.
