On Sunday, December 27, 2020, David Alan Tanner, loving husband and father of three, passed away surrounded by his family at the age of 53.

David was born on April 19, 1967 in Baytown, Texas to Jack and Cheryl Tanner. After graduating from high school he went into the Police Academy. This was the last year they would accept 18 year olds. He served for many agencies including Somerville PD, Sam Houston State University PD, Montgomery County Sheriff's Department and Pasadena PD. After serving years on patrol he was able to work in the crime lab where he was able to use his knowledge of photography and developing film and later became a Firearms Examiner. After he finished his career as a police officer he owned and operated DKT Photography.

His greatest joy was spending time with his family. He taught his children how to shoot, fish, work on cars and photography skills. David overcame many obstacles throughout his life because he was a fighter and never gave up.

David was preceded in death by his father Jack and his grandparents. He is survived by his wife of 31 ½ years, Karen, his daughter Dana and son-in-law Shane, his daughter Emily and son-in-law Eddie, his son Daniel, his mother Cheryl, his sister Susan, his grandson Samuel and many extended family members including Aunts, Uncles, cousins, brother and sister-in-laws, nieces and a nephew.

A private Memorial Service is planned for family.
