Dennis Hugh Eckert, 83, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2021 two days before his 84 ^th birthday.  Dennis was preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, Marlene Eckert, his son Steven Eckert and both parents, Hugh and Mildred Eckert. He leaves behind his daughter, Heather Collins and husband Patrick, son, Ken Eckert and wife Laura and Step-son Brian Durand and wife Kathy. Dennis also leaves behind 6 grandchildren, Steven Eckert, Michael Eckert, Jessica Brooks, Lauren Hilkhuijsen, Zach Brooks, Sarah Eckert, 7 great grandchildren and nieces Leah Gantkessy and Dena Heinonen.

Dennis enlisted in the United States Army in 1960 and served as a Sergeant for 6 years in a Signal Battalion. He was honorably discharged in 1966.

Dennis retired in 1991 after a successful career with General Motors/Detroit Diesel. He enjoyed spending time fishing and gambling.  His wishes were for direct cremation and a celebration of life will be held at a later time.
