Dona (Joey) Lopez 55, passed away peacefully on July 23 ^rd , 2021, surround by her loved ones at her home in Conroe, Texas. She was born August 5 ^th , 1965, in New Iberia, Louisiana to George and Betty Lou Hogg. Joey is preceded in death by both parents. She leaves behind husband Michael, daughter Sterling Sandstrom, and son Ezekiel Lopez along with four grandchildren, Cecil Rhodes, Artemis Rhodes, Kane Stewart, Ian Stewart, and sister Sandy Applewhite.

Joey was a graduate of Louisiana Tech and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology.

Joey spent her time focused on the education of her children and grandchildren. She was active in multiple home school groups in the Conroe/Magnolia area. Joey was an advocate for animal rescue. At most anytime there was an "injured animal visitor" spending the night awaiting transport to the appropriate care facility. Her favorite flower was the Sunflower.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, August 28,2021, at 10:00 am at Grace Point Fellowship Baptist Church, located at 426 Corporate Woods Drive, Magnolia, Texas 77354.
