Donald Orville Mapston, 90, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2021, in Conroe, Texas. He was born on July 22, 1931, in San Jose, California to James and Edna Mapston. Donald was a very active, calm, gentleman who always put family first. He was raised Baptist and joined the Mormon church in his forties where he remained active and true to his beliefs, even fulfilling the opportunity to baptize two of his grandchildren in the Mormon Church.

Donald retired from the Lumber Mill after 35 years of dedication and hard work where he fulfilled his dreams as a Heavy Equipment Operator and Welding Engineer. Following his retirement, he moved back to Montana to take care of his family.  In 2003 he and his wife moved to Texas where he spent the rest of his life surrounded by the family who lives here. He will be greatly missed as will his loving lessons and amazing stories.

Donald was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Carla Lorraine Mapston, both parents James G Mapston and Edna Munts Mapston, his brother James J. Mapston and sister Elda Mapston Taylor. He is survived by his three sons, Donald Lynn Mapston and his wife Brenda of New Waverly, Texas, Douglas Lowell Mapston and his wife Jeanne of Conroe, Texas, and William Thomas Mapston of Spokane, Washington. He also had seven grandchildren, Barbara Carrera and husband Austin of Montgomery, Texas, Lonnie Mapston and wife Becky of Willis, Texas, Samantha Taylor and husband David of Conroe, Texas, Edna Parker and husband Kenneth of Georgetown, Texas, Patrick Mapston of Huntsville, Texas, Carla Steinebach and husband Steve of Plains, Montana, Merlin Mapston and wife Holly of Spokane, Washington.

He was blessed with 29 great grand-children and 4 great great grand-children.
