Edward was a hardworking man throughout his life beginning with owning and operating his
own ice cream and meal trucks as a young man. He retired after 33 years as a truck driver from
St. Johnsbury Trucking of West Springfield, Massachusetts, followed by 15 years of working at
Cracker Barrel as well as working a few years at the Italian Club in Venice, Florida.
Edward loved going every Saturday to garage sales and finding the best deals. He enjoyed
music and entertaining family and friends wherever he was, he'd be the man handling the grill,
and the one behind the camcorder filming. He financially supported Shriners Hospitals for
Children and Boystown of America and was a member of the Elks and VFW in Venice, Florida.
He was a true friend to many; he will be sorely missed by everyone who knew and loved him
dearly. In life one of his greatest achievements were being called "Grampy", he held an
honored place in our family and was the binding force that connected the whole family.
Although we will miss him, his smile, his pranks, his stories, his love, we take consolation in the
good feeling of our memories we were all able to create with him. Edward was the most
patient, kindhearted, gentle, loving, compassionate and forgiving man, which I had the pleasure
of calling my darling, loving, husband. I will miss him more than words could say. For all
eternity "My Eddie", my honey, my love, I love you always and thank you for sharing life with
me.
As an expression of sympathy and in remembrance of Edward Barton's life, the family asks that
memorial contributions be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, of which Edward was a
member.
