IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Edward W.
Ferguson
June 26, 1942 – October 4, 2021
Edward W. Ferguson (Ed) passed away on Monday, October 4, 2021 in Houston, Texas after fighting cancer. Ed was born in Houston on June 26, 1942 to the late Edward Sr. and Glenn Ada Ferguson. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Cheri Ferguson, and "best dog ever", Pepper. He is also survived by his sister Kathie Skucius and husband George of Angleton, Texas. He leaves behind extended family along with 20 nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews whom he loved dearly.
Ed was a true gentleman; kind and gentle but strong and brave. He always wanted to protect everyone and everything. He was proud to have served in the United States Marines and the United States Army.
Ed retired from Emerson Power and Water Solutions in 2015 after spending over 30 years in the industry. He retired from 40+ years of SCCA road racing and finally purchased the Corvette he always coveted and enjoyed the last 3 years with the San Jacinto Corvette Club. He also enjoyed an occasional game of golf, loved reading historical fact and fiction, debating politics, watching all racing on tv and cheering on the Houston Astros.
The family would like to thank all the personnel at Houston Methodist West Hospital for their efforts and kindness, especially the 6 th floor nurses. A special thank you to family members and friends for their prayers and support.
Private family services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests with gratitude that contributions in Ed's memory be directed to Citizens for Animal Protection (CAP) at http://www.cap4pets.org/ or a local animal shelter of your choice.
