It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Elizabeth M Jones of Klein, TX who passed away on November 02, 2020 at the age of 76. She was born to Effie Lee Martin (Henry) in Eufaula, Alabama on April 19, 1944.
Elizabeth graduated from Spencer High School in 1963 and received a degree from the Grady School of Nursing in 1967. After graduation from the Grady School of Nursing, Elizabeth joined the United States Air Force and achieved the rank of Captain. She was deployed to West Germany where she met her husband Ray Jones, Jr. of the United States Army. Captain Elizabeth Jones served her country for 4 years as a combat Nurse.
She raised 2 children, Christopher Jones and Erica Elizabeth Jones (deceased). She is also survived by 4 grandchildren; Christian Jones (7), Jasmine Jones (12), Christopher Jones II (18), and Shawn Jones (22). She adored her family and was happiest when she was surrounded by her grandchildren.
She was loved and cherished by many people including; her daughter in-law, Allanda Nichols Jones of Klein, TX; her siblings, Earlene of Atlanta, GA, Myretha of Cherry Hill, NJ (deceased), Valerie of Philadelphia, PA, Joan of New York City, and Michael of Washingotn, D.C.; and her nephews, Matthew, Anthony, Nick, and Zachary.
Even through the hard times, Elizabeth lived a life of faith, laughter, and love, and treasured every moment with her family, especially the grandchildren, and she loved to eat. She will be sorely missed.
A private, due to COVID, graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 10th 2020 at 10:30 AM at the Houston National Cemetery (10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038).
