Emily Yvonne Pursell was born in Hollandale, Mississippi to parents Flora Marie Smallwood (Everett) and Virgil Conner Smallwood on April 7, 1946.  She grew up in many states traveling with her family as a young girl and settled in Houston, Tx in her later years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Patrick Miller of Alabama and her sisters: Gracie Charlene Londers, Patricia Ann Chapman, Bobbie Gean Smallwood, Diane Hernandez, Rebecca Slaughter, Dorothy Marie Smallwood and her brothers: Olan Albert Smallwood, Jimmy Wayne Smallwood and Virgil Don Smallwood.

Emily is survived by her daughter Tammy Miller, son David Miller, son Matthew Pursell and his wife Eva and grandson Glen Pursell and several other grandchildren and great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held for family at a date yet to be determined.
