IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Fernando
Munoz
June 20, 1956 – June 6, 2024
It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of my beloved father, Fernando Munoz, who left us on June 6, 2024, at the age of 67. Surrounded by his loving family and friends in his final moments, he was a man of immense humility, wisdom, humor, love, and happiness. His passion for soccer, music and bike riding and his unwavering spirit will forever be remembered. He is survived by his beautiful wife, Ruth Mejia, his son, Alexander Munoz, his daughters Stefania Munoz and Daniela Munoz, who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest.
Fernando was a devoted and loving son to his mother Graciela Munoz. At the age of twelve (12) years, he left home to help provide for his single mother and three other siblings. He worked very diligently throughout his teenage years and purchased his mother a brand-new home. The home that sheltered his mother and three other siblings until adulthood. Graciela was Fernando's first true love and the woman he spoiled until her very end.
Fernando had a loving and nurturing soul, at the age of 26, he became a single father to a two (2) year old boy. Alexander grew up with my father for a period three (3) years, until my father, Fernando Munoz, found the love of his life, my mother, Ruth Mejia. Ruth became a dedicated loving mother to Alexander, and wife to Fernando in the year 1988. Shortly after uniting his life with my mother, my mother and father conceived their first daughter, Stefania Munoz, in the year 1990. Stefania and Fernando shared many memories while singing, dancing, exploring nature, their love for the ocean, and enjoying many soccer games. In 1995, Fernando and Ruth welcomed their youngest daughter, Daniela Munoz. Daniela and Fernando shared countless memories together, as she shared the same passion for soccer and life.
He was a man of many talents, but his greatest talent was his ability to forgive, love, and to love unconditionally, despite any wrongdoing. His love was not just a feeling, but a force, a force that brought joy, comfort, and strength to those around him. His love for the sea was not just a passion, but a way of life. One of his last wishes was for his wife to ask for forgiveness on his behalf, to ask from the bottom of his heart to be forgiven if he ever hurt anyone.
Today, as I stand here, I am not just mourning the loss of my beautiful father, but celebrating the love we shared, the life he built for my mother and us kids, the memories we created. Fernando, you were more than my father, you were my rock, my lighthouse, my compass.
Daddy, your physical presence may be absent, but your love continues to surround us, your laughter continues to echo in our hearts, your spirit continues to guide us.
Rest in peace, mi papito lindo. You will always be loved, always be missed, and forever be remembered.
