IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Fernando
Rodriguez
July 25, 1955 – October 13, 2022
Fernando Rodriguez was born to the late Carlos Rodriguez and Griselda Gutierrez, a General of the
Mexican Army. He relocated across Mexico before his parents settled in Morelia, Michoacan, the city he
grew up calling home. Fernando graduated from the Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolas de Hidalgo
with an accounting degree and became a business entrepreneur, but later in life found his true vocation
as a Spanish Teacher in the United States.
Fernando was married for 18 years and had three amazing children that he deeply loved and cherished.
He devoted his life to raising them with love, kindness, and humility. He dedicated his time to supporting
their academic, musical, and athletic development and aspirations. He taught his children how to play
tennis, his passion for his childhood soccer team "Club America," and most importantly the value of
family.
After one year from moving to the US, Fernando started working as a Spanish teacher at Magnolia ISD.
He was very passionate about teaching his students Spanish and sharing the history of his Mexican
heritage and culture. He was an exceptional teacher who genuinely cared for the success of every
student and put every effort into making class fun while learning. Fernando loved going to school; it was
like a second home, and he found comfort and joy spending time with his students and his teammates
who he considered family.
Fernando Rodriguez, loving father, grandfather, and brother, passed away in the comfort of his home
after a long year of battling stage IV gastric cancer. Fernando is survived by his loving children Stephanie,
Fernando, and Kevin; his grandchild Theo; and his siblings Griselda and Ignacio. He is preceded in death
by his brothers Samuel and Carlos; and his parents.
He will be greatly missed by his loving family and will always be remembered in their hearts.
