On Thursday, September 9, 2021, Gai-Lynn Marshall passed away at the age of 79. She was born on November 23, 1941 in Independence, Missouri. Gai-Lynn received her degree in Education from Texas A&I University in 1972 and taught for 38 years in Tomball, Cypress-Fairbanks, and Aldine school districts. She blessed many children as a classroom teacher, as well as additional years as a substitute teacher with Spring and Klein school districts after retirement. Gai-Lynn was known for her ability to never meet a stranger and never sit still. She was loved by her family, friends, students, coworkers, and community. Gai-Lynn is preceded in death by her loving parents Sam and Dollee Dickens. Left to cherish her memories are son Bradley Holder (wife Leann Holder) of Longview, TX, son James Marshall (wife Viola Marshall) of San Antonio, TX, daughter G.E. Marshall of Houston, TX, grandson Donald Holder of College Station, TX, and granddaughter Gabby Marshall of San Antonio, TX. Her family extends heartfelt thanks to all healthcare providers at Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital and to Elra Caring Hospice. May you rest in heavenly power and peace! A celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
