July 31, 1957 – November 16, 2020
Gary Allen Johnson ,63, of Katy TX passed away Monday November 16, 2020, at Cypress North Houston Hospital in Cypress TX.
Gary was born on July 31, 1957 in Sterling Illinois, to Marvin Lee Johnson and Joyce Marlene Hoffman. Gary is preceded in death by both of his parents and his brother Robert "Bob" Johnson. He is survived by his wife Saundra Johnson, son Gary Johnson II (wife Blair), granddaughter Khloe Johnson, sister Lana Knox( husband Terry), nieces and nephews Shannen Mager( husband Darryl), Susan Johnson, Shane Knox (wife Courtney) Tyler Johnson, as well as great nieces and nephews.
Gary was the type of man who would help anyway he could, and was a big believer in second chances. He absolutely loved spending anytime he could with his son Gary and granddaughter Khloe, riding dirt bikes and his Harley, especially when him and his son would go for rides to the Thirsty Parrot. He also enjoyed spending time with family, playing with remote controlled vehicles and drones, playing games of all kinds and spending time with his dogs especially Sammy, Sammy was his boy.
Gary loved the company and the people who he worked for, and those who worked for him. He was an electrical supervisor at Seatrax Inc. In Houston TX, where he worked for about 20 years. They loved him and he loved being there. He made lasting friendships and even some he considered and called family along the way.
In March of 2019 Gary received a bilateral lung transplant through J.C. Walter Jr. Transplant center and Houston Methodist Hospital Main in the Medical center of Houston TX. He was so excited to be able to walk around and do everyday errands with out the use of a motorized cart and oxygen tank. He was also thrilled when he got the O.K. to go back to work, he was going stir crazy at home he couldn't wait to get back.
We want to say thank you to everyone at Houston Methodist Hospital Main and J.C. Walter JR. Transplant center, Charlotte the Bronchoscopy nurse and the donor family (we are also very sorry for your loss) for helping Gary to get the chance to live a better quality of life till the end.
The family will contact family and friends about memorial services once they are available.
