Obituary

Gary E. Kruger, 81, passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2020 in Houston, Texas.  He was born on January 11, 1939 in Fort Scott, Kansas to Carl and Mary Kruger.  Gary graduated from Washington High School in Kansas City, Kansas and was a proud member of the Class of '57.  He leaves behind his loving wife of 61 years, Carla Kruger; his son, Matt Kruger and his spouse, Steve Riley; two grandchildren, Christian Kruger and Julie Kruger; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters Carlene Rinehart and Freida Bradwell; and brother Dennis Kruger.

Gary served in the US Marine Corps from 1958-1961.  After his military service, he had a long career with John Deere Foundry as an Inspector, retiring in 1989.

Gary enjoyed spending time with his family and friends; everyone loved Gary's homemade Gringo Sauce on their tacos, which he would willingly share as long as they stayed off his perfectly manicured lawn.  An enthusiastic automobile fanatic, he enjoyed showing his '57 Chevy at car shows across the Midwest.  He was also an avid sports fan, with a passion for NASCAR, and a particular affinity for #24 Jeff Gordon.
