In loving memory, George Elmer Headley, 72, passed away on January 16, 2021, surrounded by loved ones who will honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest. He was born on November 19, 1948, in Princeton, Illinois to John and Orpha Headley. George is preceded in death by both parents and his brothers Dennis, Bernard, and James. He leaves behind his wife Violeta Headley of 49 years; his three children Maria, John (Abegail), and Tonya (Mike); five grandchildren Jordan, Jasmin, Jace, John Robert, and Brandon; three bonus grandchildren Marino, Makayla, and Mason; one bonus great-granddaughter Navayla; his brother Jack (Dixie) Headley, and many nieces and nephews. All of who he was proud of and loved deeply.
George grew up in Walnut and Buda, Illinois, graduating from Western High School in 1968, after which he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He served in the Vietnam War and was stationed across the world in places such as Clark Air Base, Philippines; Wurtsmith Air Force Base, Iosco County MI; Little Rock Air Force Base, Jacksonville AR; Reece Air Force Base, Lubbock TX; & Mather Air Force Base, Sacramento CA. His family and friends knew him as fun loving, easy going, generous, go with the flow type of guy; but definitely didn't hold back what was on his mind. His family meant everything to him and he made sure that he was there for them in every part of their lives. He was an amazing husband, dad, grandpa and uncle; and a brother to many friends; whom he will be greatly missed by all whose lives he impacted.
