George Hughie Turner was born in Rice, Texas, on June 26, 1933, and passed away peacefully at home on December 28, 2020, surrounded by his family. He attended Forest Avenue High School in Dallas, Texas. Upon graduation from high school, George enlisted in the Navy during the Korean War.  Following his military service, he began his lengthy career in the Commercial Insurance industry. There he met Judith Ohler Turner, and they were married on November 5, 1955.  They began their married life in Dallas and later lived in DeSoto, Texas; Houston, Texas; Concord, California; Tustin, California; and Bellaire, Texas.

After many years in the field of insurance, George retired, and he and Judy moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he became a Sales Representative for Motor Manuals for several years. George and Judy then relocated back to Houston to be near their children and grandchildren.

George was a lifelong amateur magician and loved classic cars and family gatherings. He was a prankster with an epic sense of humor. Since retirement, he enjoyed watching Houston Astros baseball, attending his grandchildren's activities and Precinct 4 events, especially day bus trips. George was an accomplished crossword puzzle expert and avid user of technological devices. Most of all, he loved his family.
