IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Harriett Dianne
Wilcox
October 31, 1941 – October 23, 2023
Klein, Texas – Harriett Dianne Wilcox, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and sister passed away on Monday, October 23, 2023.
Dianne was born on October 31, 1941, in DeKalb, Illinois, and grew up in Erie, Illinois, until she graduated from the University of Iowa with a bachelor's degree in English. After graduation, she moved with her first husband, John White, to Overland Park, Kansas, in 1962, where they started their family of young boys. In 1971, Dianne with her family, including sons Jack and William, moved to Beaumont, Texas. While in Beaumont, Dianne's third son, Stephen, was born, and after three years, her husband's company transferred the family to Houston. Dianne raised her family in Houston and actively participated in the school and after-school activities of her children. In 1980 Dianne started working, initially at The University Savings branch in Spring Branch. After a couple of years, Dianne went to work for Drexel Burnham Lambert, a brokerage firm, in the Galleria area. In 1993 Dianne married her second husband, Keith Wilcox, and they established their home in the Town & Country area of Houston. Dianne successfully expanded her responsibilities at Drexel, including passing both the Series 7 (General Securities) and Series 8 (General Securities Sales Supervisor) examinations and receiving the associated licenses. After Drexel, Dianne worked briefly for Smith Barney before becoming the office manager for Paine Webber in downtown Houston. As the final step of Dianne's career, she became the office manager of the newly formed brokerage Burnham Securities and then finished her career as Managing Director at Stark Capital Management. Dianne worked there until she retired in 2013.
Dianne, known as Memaw to her grandchildren, loved her family most of all, and enjoyed spending time visiting her children and grandchildren wherever they resided in the USA and overseas. Memaw lived very close to her son Stephen, daughter-in-law Elaine, and grandchildren Jack Henry and Will in Gleannloch Farms and enjoyed participating in their many school and after-school activities. Memaw also spent many memorable vacations visiting Northern California where her son William and daughter-in-law Kristin, and grandchildren Lindsay and Mikaela lived – a favorite area for Memaw and Pepaw Keith was to visit the Big Sur area along the coast. Memaw also visited son Jack and daughter-in-law Laurie, and grandchildren John and Matthew in the places they lived including The Netherlands and China. Memaw was a good cook and loved reading cookbooks, trying new recipes, and enjoying a glass or two of wine throughout the cooking process.
Dianne is preceded in death by her parents, Charles Evans Parks and Marguerite Sallaz Cook, her stepfather Bud Cook, her second husband, Keith Wilcox, and her first husband, John White. Surviving Dianne are her son and wife, Jack and Laurie of Delray Beach, FL, and their children John and Matthew; son and wife, William and Kristin of Reno, NV, and their children Mikaela and Lindsay and her husband Colter Sanford and their son Teddy; son and wife, Stephen and Elaine of Klein, TX, and their children Jack Henry and Will; brother Bob and sister-in-law Linda Cook of Landenberg, PA; and brother Bill and sister-in-law Lynne Cook of Santa Rosa, CA, and her nephew Bob Cook.
