James B (Jim) Carlisle 84 of Magnolia, Texas, passed away at home on Dec. 11th, 2020.
Born Dec. 19th,1935 to Ivan and Myrtle Carlisle of Alvin, Texas. Jim was the 2nd of 5 children. Survived by sister Martha Mitchell and brother Bob Carlisle, and preceded in death by both parents and brothers John Carlisle and George Carlisle.
Jim worked at many jobs throughout his life starting early throwing a paper route with his father and siblings as a boy, then onto the oil fields, welder, pipefitter, piping designer, and construction of all kinds. As his brother would say, while other hands could build, Jim's could create art. He felt that being a father was his most important job.
Jim is survived by daughter Carol Graham and husband Russ, son Dan Carlisle and daughter Nancy Carlisle. To his ultimate sadness, he was preceded in death by sons Andy and David and daughter Judy, and grandsons Shane and Jeremy. He looked forward to seeing them all again.
Dad said he had enough kids that once he taught them to drive he would no longer have to. Once he started having grandchildren the tradition continued when he could. Survived by Tony, Brad, Erica and Adam, Kat, Sarah, Rob and Taylor. The great-grands Tristan, Tatum, Jayme, Nio and Nicky, June and Sadie, will have to drive without his teaching.
Jim's sense of humor, appropriate or not, continued throughout his life. If you weren't laughing then you weren't learning. And he taught us well.
