Obituary

James E Fau, born November 10, 1939 in Chicago, Ill, completed his race on December 12, 2019 after turning 80 in Tomball, Tx.

"Jim" grew up on the south side of Chicago, joined the ROTC in high school and went on to enlist in the Army National Guard (1960) and Army Reserves (1965) where he served his terms honorably. He married his high school sweetheart, Janas Jarvas in 1961 and they moved to Texas to start a family. He began his career with the electronics company Recognition Equipment (REI). Jim went on to open Best Hardware on FM 1960. He then joined Home Depot and moved to California. He was brought back to Texas when the grand babies began to arrive.

Jim was a brilliant man and could fix anything. He earned his Private Pilot license in Illinois and logged many hours flying. He loved to snow ski and golf, ride motorcycles and boat with the family on Lake Conroe. Many vacations were spent camping at KOAs around the US and traveling to other countries.

Jim survived his first cancer in 1985. He bravely faced this last cancer for 9 years.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Janas Fau; his children, JoAnn (Jim) Butler, James (Emily) Fau, Jr, John Fau; his grandsons, Austin (Laura) Butler, Cameron Butler and Noah Fau; and brother Charles (Lee) Fau. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles Fau and Josephine Buric.

A memorial mass will be held at St. Edward Catholic Church at 2601 Spring Stuebner Rd, Spring TX 77389 on January 11, 2020 at 10:30 followed by a luncheon.
