James Daniel Haley

1928 - 2021

James (Jim or Jimmy) D Haley, born February 24, 1928, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 1, 2021 at the age of 93.    He is preceded in death by his wife of sixty six years, Jane C Haley, and son, Patrick E Haley.

He is survived by brother Bob Haley (Kay), daughters Laura Taylor (James), Debbie Taylor, and son Clark Haley (Michelle); five grandchildren: Elizabeth (Bernie), John (Aurora), Morgan, Patrick (Heather), and Sean (Amanda); and seven great grandchildren: Austin, Travis, Justin, Jared, Annabelle, Madelyne, and Eve.

Jim Haley along with his late wife, Jane, owned and operated Haley's Sporting Goods in Port Isabel, Tx for over 15 years and cruised the Gulf coast, Florida coast and Bahamas for over 10 years aboard their sailboat "Afterglow". Jim was one of the original organizers of the Laguna Madre Yacht Club, served on the Executive Board of the Texas International Fishing Tournament for many years and was the president of TIFT from 1980 - 1981.

A celebration of life will be held at a date still to be determined.
