James Paul Robson, "Jim", was born in Joplin Missouri on December 10, 1938. As an adolescent, Jim was
an avid photographer. He worked at the Joplin KODE radio and TV stations during televisions infancy,
filming news reports and onsite commercials. He turned one of his mom's closets into a dark room
where he would develop pictures for the school's yearbooks. Jim loved basketball but being one of the
smaller players he struggled to make the athletic teams. He later formed a community league and
basketball team named the "Robson Runts" using the name to inspire a group of kids in the townhome
complex.
Jim graduated from Joplin High School in 1956. Soon after graduation he attended Joplin Junior College
and with his brother was a member of the Missouri National Guard. He transferred to Pittsburgh State
University and earned a bachelor's in business majoring in accounting. After college Jim moved to New
York and joined Haskin's & Sells becoming a CPA auditing major companies throughout the world. He
continued his auditing career in Kansas City and then Houston eventually moving into the Oil business,
first as a Senior Accountant, VP of Finance and then brokering oil deals in the early 80's. Jim
transitioned to a successful sales career working for several advertising specialty companies until his
retirement in 2016.
A devout Christian and member of Champion Forest Baptist Church, Jim worked to bring God's word to
others. One of his biggest passions was writing poems. He was an accomplished author, writing and
publishing 12 books of poetry guided by his strong belief in The Holy Spirit. All of his books contain the
words "Of The Heart" in the title and Jim stated "My hope is that each reader will use these poems as a
guide and a catalyst to gain insight into the power and love of the Holy Spirit, who was sent as a
Comforter by the love and grace of Jesus Christ."
