Obituary

James Frederick Watkins II (Fred), age 73, of Spring, Tx peacefully passed from this life in his home, surrounded by his children.  He was born in Memphis, Tennessee on October 29 th , 1949, son of Barney Cecil Watkins (Papaw) and Mary Elma Hubbard (Meemaw).  After 30+ years of diligent service, Fred retired from ExxonMobil serving in numerous roles, but most notably gaining lifelong friendships strongly held to this day.  Fred was married to his wife Joellen for 46 years, and fathered his 4 children, 2 bonus sons and gaining many more "Sons" after moving to Houston, Texas.  He was Boompa to his 8 grandchildren and Pops to his Wrestling family.  Fred was an actor/director/choreographer who helmed many theatrical productions in Memphis, Tennessee as well as Spring, Texas.  His years in theater strongly influenced his dramatic character and ability to win the room, allowing him to be surrounded with humor and affection of those around him.  Despite his health challenges and multiple adversities (loss of wife and son) over the last few years, his newfound friendships allowed him to "live it up" -- attending Wrestling matches, fine dining, travel, and seeing his "cousins" in Memphis.  A Celebration of Life is currently pending and in lieu flowers, please consider donating to the American Diabetes Association referencing the following email: jamesfw3uh@yahoo.com
