Obituary

John (Jack) Alfred Wilson was born on January 15, 1938 in Camas, Washington to Billie and Don Wilson and passed away peacefully in his home in the loving arms of his wife and daughter on January 16, 2020 after a lengthy illness.
Jack lived in many places, but loved the home of his youth Ulysses, Kansas, the mountains of Colorado Springs, Colorado and his home in Conroe off the 9th fairway of the River Plantation Country Club most of all.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Fort Hays State University in 1959, Jack taught at Air Academy High in Colorado. While there he earned a Master of Natural Science from University of Idaho which eventually led to a fellowship award to earn his Doctor of Education degree from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. He was an assistant professor at IU and also published a book and many articles during his time there. He also had an esteemed career in defense electronics that brought him to the Houston area. There his met his wife, Susan Edwards, and returned to teaching at Oak Ridge High School in Conroe ISD.
In addition to his education and work, he spent many enjoyable hours riding his motorcycles, flying his airplane, and spending time with friends and family. He loved to golf and marshall or simply sit on his deck overlooking the course and enjoying the view.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 24 years, Susan Edwards Wilson and his daughter, Heather Wilson Meeks and her children, Jake, Camille and Stephen. He is also survived by his sister, Jari Sullivan and her husband Dan and his nieces Jennifer Hicks, Jamie Taylor, and Julie Banigan, step-daugher, Karen Walters Planos, her children Matt and Emma, and step-son Rich Walters and his wife Kim and their children Drew and Reed. He was a loyal friend, loved by many and will be greatly missed.
