John J Cavanaugh, our beloved father, grandfather, and brother passed away on December 28, 2021.  He was born in Latrobe, PA to John J Cavanaugh and Mary M (McFadden) Cavanaugh.  John graduated from Latrobe HS in 1971 and upon graduation entered the U.S. Navy.  He retired from the U.S. Navy, earning the rank of Chief Petty Officer.  Not content to rest in retirement, John pursued many other interests and positions until his death.

John was an avid fisherman and wildlife hunter from his boyhood days.  He was a quiet man who cherished his wife Suzi Pratt Cavanaugh, and especially his children and grandchildren.  He truly enjoyed a life well lived.

John was predeceased by his parents and brother Robert C. Cavanaugh, and his wife Suzi who sadly passed on June 10, 2020.

John is survived by his children;  Allan Pilapil, John J. Cavanaugh,  Rowena M. Cavanaugh, Janassa R. Healey and 7 grandchildren; Allan Jr., Alanah, Jontae, Jonice, Soleil, Taylor and Jake; brother Michael F. Cavanaugh (Beth), sisters Mary M Jenison (Bob), Kathryn Smith (Ken), Anita Cavanaugh.

As per John's wishes, his ashes will be scattered in the Pacific Ocean at a later date by his children and grandchildren.
