Obituary

John Edward Griesbach, age 77
The Lord, in his mercy and wisdom, peacefully called John Edward Griesbach to his eternal resting place on October 19, 2022. Born in Bergenfield, New Jersey on March 27, 1945, John was raised by his loving parents alongside his two brothers. Early on John or "Griz" was a mischievous Kid who spent his time outdoors fishing, camping, and raising cain. His witty sense of humor kept his family on their toes while he played pranks on anyone in his path. There was never a dull moment when John was present. One story has it that Griz rode a motorcycle down his high school hallway. It's a good thing he was a talented athlete on the track and pole-vaulting team in high school since he needed to be on the run from his adventures
With the same active mindset, John wanted to fulfil his patriotic duties to his country. His adoration for America motivated him to enlist in the Army after high school and serve heroically in the Vietnam War. He was a proud soldier who continued to raise the American flag high in his yard every day of his life.
Out of the army, John wanted to travel which led him to Norway where he found the love of his life. He brought Torhild back to the states and they married shortly after. Family was John's everything. Providing for his new family was priority. so he learned the floor covering trade then moved to Texas where he started his own business with a hardworking mindset. As his family grew with their children, John wanted to share his love of traveling with them. Many incredible memories are wrapped around the quality time on the regular Caribbean vacations where he immersed his loved ones in organic learning experiences. John's affection and loyalty to his wife and kids were unwavering.

John sure was full of talents. There was nothing that man couldn't do. He was a gardener, scuba diver. photographer, and a musician. I can still hear him drumming on the counter tops or steering wheel while marching to his own beat. All his Knowledge and talents were used for the greater good. John's generous soul was always lending a helping hand to anyone who needed it. His home was always open to anyone.
What an incredible man he was.
is survived by his loving wife, Torhild Griesbach. On April 11, 2022, they celebrated their 54th 19 anniversary. He leaves behind his son, Johnny, and his wife Melinda along with his daughter, Ind her husband Colin. John adored his grandchildren: Ryan, Braden, Morgan, Kegan, and Carlie ed his brothers, Robert and Richard along with their wives, Maureen and Diane. John had many uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, and friends. All whom he truly loved.
