John P. Moon passed away on October 15, 2020. Born on July 15, 1938, in Philadelphia, PA, he was a man of many talents and passions.
John had a lifelong thirst for knowledge and continued tinkering with computer hardware and writing code long after retirement. He was a true technology enthusiast, and his expertise in the field was unmatched. John's dedication to his work led him to hold various leadership positions, including Vice President of Imaging Products at Apple Computer Inc., Director of Engineering at Tandon Magnetics and National Micronetics Corp., and he began his career at IBM.
In addition to his successful career, John was an avid sports enthusiast. He played basketball and football in college and enjoyed playing tennis for many years afterward. His love for sports brought him joy and kept him active throughout his life. John shared his love for sports with his son Shaun and they maintained a close connection and bond through it.
John will be deeply missed by his surviving family members. He is survived by his loving wife, Carla Moon, son Shaun Moon, daughter Inga Aaron, and daughter Tuesday Moon; as well as his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Cindy Moon, his mother Louise Moon, and father Perry Moon.
During his life, John also served his country with honor and dedication. He proudly served in the US Army for two years during the Vietnam War, demonstrating bravery and commitment to his fellow soldiers.
John P. Moon's legacy will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His thirst for knowledge, passion for technology, and love for sports will forever inspire those whose lives he touched. May he rest in peace.
