Johnny Douglas Riley

October 1, 1960 – July 28, 2021

Johnny Douglas Riley, 60, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2021 at Northwest Houston Hospital.  He was born on October 1, 1960, in Kansas City, Missouri to Johnnie Edward Riley and Georgia Maye Steele and his older sister Marilyn Sue Marrow. John is preceded in death by both parents. He leaves behind wife, Amber Riley (59 yrs) (22 years of marriage), his sister Marilyn Sue Marrow (68 yrs) ; his 3 step children, Brittaney Nicholle Hendricks (31 yrs), Donald Lee Hendricks III (Trey) (29 yrs), Natasha Renee' Hendricks (27 yrs); four grandchildren, Sephina Grice, Jay Grice, Dante Grace, and Jaden Rodriguez.

John proudly served in the Army for 12 years and wore the American Flag with Eagles any chance he had. He also enjoyed his time being a part of Silver Star Outlaws. Besides his time in the Army, he retired as a manager at Sonic and was cared for by his wife.

John was always laughing and cracking jokes every chance he had. He loved the outdoors, burning brush, head butting goats, cooking, imitating cats (all 7 of them), and playing poker. He always gave good advice, and we are all so happy to have shared fun, happy memories with him. We will forever celebrate his life and will live in the memories he left with us.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 13, 2021, at 11:00am for viewing at Graceful Memorial Chapel, located at 3160 Brownie Campbell Rd., Houston, Texas 77038. Burial service will follow at the Houston National Cemetery at 12:45pm at 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston, TX 77038. Prayer provided by Jay Fondren, a Veteran himself, with Outreach Chaplain.
