IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joy
Dabney
February 10, 1940 – July 29, 2021
Mrs. Joy Dabney, 81, of Magnolia, Texas passed away peacefully at her home on July 29,2021 from ongoing complications of heart disease.
Mrs. Dabney was a strong and determined woman. It was her dream to be a part of a large and loving family. And so it began in June of 1962 when she married her childhood sweetheart, Thomas W. Dabney, following his graduation from Texas A&M University. Together, Tommy and Joy raised four devoted children. Joy's greatest pride was her enduring marriage, her children, and her ten grandchildren who adored her. Joy was an exceptional homemaker who enjoyed decorating, gardening and entertaining.
She is survived by Tommy and her children: Molly and Edgar Carlson, Tracey and Rick Carlson, Stephen Dabney and Jane Dabney, and Travis and Krista Dabney. She is also survived by her grandchildren – Katie Starkey and husband J.W., Cooper Carlson, Caroline Carlson, Travis Carlson, Emily Carlson, Evan Carlson, Ethan Dabney, Emma Dabney, Kennedy Dabney, and William Dabney – and two great-grandchildren - Spencer Kate Starkey and Palmer Leigh Starkey. Joy was immensely proud of her family, and they will undoubtedly miss her.
The children would like to acknowledge and offer their sincerest gratitude to their father for providing exceptionally loving and attentive care to their mother. Additionally, the family thanks Norma de Paz and Marian Ayensu who assisted their father in Joy's care.
A private memorial service will be held for the immediate family. In lieu of flowers, a charitable contribution in Joy's name to the organization of your choice is encouraged.
