June Claire (Leppanen) Wilmot passed away at her home in Katy, TX, in the loving care of her children after a brave fight against cancer on May 3, 2020. She was born the first child of Claire Veronica (Harcourt) and Walter Matti Leppanen in 1938 in Quincy, Mas-sachusetts, and grew up in nearby Braintree.

As the matriarch of a large family, June thrived around children. She cherished her friends, always saw the good in people, and possessed a spirit of independence and love for animals. She was always young at heart. She made the best of any situation. Known as a cat lady, she rarely strayed from her cat feeding duties, and was quite popular in her community. She led a good life and had a peaceful trip over the rainbow bridge.

June was the devoted mother of Robert Walter Ellis (and Diane Cass) of Inverness FL, Bonnie Lou Wilmot of Melbourne FL, Keith Daniel Wilmot of Melbourne FL, Scott Chris-topher (and Kendy) Harcourt of Palm Bay FL, Timothy Bruce Wilmot of Great Barrington MA, Brenda Je-anne Wilmot of Katy TX and Shauna Suzanne (and John) Teeter of Katy TX, and proud Susu of her nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Prior to moving to Texas, June raised her family in Massachusetts, Maryland and Florida.

Predeceased by her sister Phyllis Harcourt Doctor of Amity, Oregon, June is survived by her siblings Audrey Louise Leppanen of Quincy MA, Carol Mary Montgomery (and Paul Lugin) of Palmer AK, Jo-Anne Leppanen of New Bedford MA, Peter Walter (and Deborah) Leppanen of Norwell, MA and five nieces and nephews.

Celebration of life ceremonies in June's memory will also be held in Florida and in Mas-sachusetts at a future date and time.
