Karen Ann Herring, 62, passed away peacefully in her sleep on
September 21st, 2020, at Avid Care Cottages in Houston, Texas. She was
born on October 18th, 1957, in Baytown, Texas to Glenn and Martha
Ericson. Karen is preceded in death by her mother, Martha Ann Ericson.
She leaves behind her father; Robert Glenn Ericson, Sisters; Teresa Ann
De La Garza husband Frank De La Garza, and Patricia Ann Gumela
husband John Gumela, Husband; George Edward Herring, Nieces;
Kimberly Gumela, Melanie Gumela, and Rebecca De La Garza, nephews;
Randolph De La Garza, and Robert Gumela. And many aunts and uncles.
Karen was an avid seamstress, reader, crafter and baker, who
enjoyed planning and hosting parties and events for friends and family;
especially holidays. Karen had many beloved animals that she considered
her children; most notably her collies Zoe and Zena, dachshunds Pete,
Fritzy III, Fritzy IV, and Frisky The Cow. She was a member of The
National Honor Society in school, and worked as an accountant for many
hospitals and insurance agencies, and was loved by all of her coworkers
for her cheerful energy and caring nature. She was incredibly smart, and
loved by all who were lucky enough to meet her.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 29th, 2020, at
3:30 pm, with a viewing at 2:30pm, at Graceful Memorial Chapel, located at
3160 Brownie Campbell RD., Houston, Texas 77038.
