Obituary

Kenneth High, born March 22, 1939, in Kaufman County, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2026. He was preceded in death by his parents, J.W. and Hazel High.

Kenneth graduated from Kaufman High School and went on to attend Henderson County Junior College. He proudly served his country in the United States Army.

On June 14, 1960, he married the love of his life, Dianne Gheen, and together they built a life centered on family, dedication, and quiet strength.

He worked as an electrician and was known for being dependable, hardworking, and always willing to lend a hand. Kenneth was a man of few words, but his actions spoke volumes—he was generous, protective, and consistently put others before himself.

Above all, Kenneth was a devoted husband, father, brother, and grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife, Dianne High; his son, Kenneth Wayne High, and daughter-in-law, Sonya High; and his three cherished grandchildren, Joshua, Julia, and Jake, who lovingly knew him as “Papa.” He moved and lived in Magnolia Tx for the last 20 years to be near his grandchildren.

He is also survived by his brother, Hollis High and wife Dianne High of Kaufman, Texas, their daughter and his cousins.

Kenneth found his greatest joy in spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be remembered for his quiet kindness, steady presence, and unwavering love.

In honoring his wishes, his family will spread his ashes on the farm where he grew up—a place filled with cherished memories, where he spent precious time with loved ones and was happiest. A formal service will not be held. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests that donations be made to the charity of your choice in his memory.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those who knew and loved him.
