Obituary

Kenneth ("Kenny") Ray White

December 6, 1946 – February 2, 2022

Kenneth was born in Beaumont, Texas on December 6, 1946.  He graduated from Silsbee High School in 1965.  He proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1965 to 1967.  Kenneth had several jobs during his working years – policeman, liquor salesman, and car salesman to name a few – but his one true passion was singing and playing his guitar.  He and his two brother-in-laws would entertain the family with their picking and grinning at family gatherings.  For a few years, he was in a cover band called "The Sounds of Country" that played various southeast Texas venues in the 1980's.

Kenneth loved westerns and old-school country and bluegrass music.  Roy Rogers was one of his favorites.  After retiring, Kenneth found many kindred spirits who shared the same passions as him at the Triple Creek RV Music Park in Woodville, Texas.  He and his friends would spend many happy years with potluck dinners, jam sessions, pickers' circles, bluegrass weekends, gospel weekends, and the like.  His friends there became his second family.

Kenneth passed away in Tomball, Texas on February 2, 2022 after a nine-month long battle with esophageal cancer.  Judging by the outpouring of love and prayers upon the news of Kenneth's passing, it is evident that he had a life well-lived and was loved by many.

Kenneth is predeceased by his parents, Henry White and Gracie Ingle; brother Allen White; sister Carole Milstead; brother-in-law Marvin Milstead; and nephew Edwin Milstead.  Kenneth is survived by his sister Debra and her husband Kenneth "Guy" Brammer of Sour Lake, Texas; daughter Kim and her husband Gerald Chandler III of Spring, Texas; daughter Tammy and her husband James Headley of Millbrook, Alabama; son Kenneth Ray White, Jr. of Dallas , Georgia; bonus daughter Cindy Seamans of Brookeland, Texas; his love Ms. Mary Cogbill of Woodville, Texas; grandchildren:  Elizabeth Brown, Emma Brown, Zach Shows, Lindsey Shows, and Kaylee Chandler; nieces:  Belinda Bushnell, Karen Roby, Amanda Lewis, Debbie Tompkins, Keila Brammer, and Katie Brammer; nephew Allen Milstead; and many, many cousins, family members, and friends who loved him and will miss him dearly.
